Tiki Bars
We build outdoor tiki bars as part of our tiki hut and outdoor structure work—wood framing, thatch or metal panel roof, bar top, and finish. From full bars with service counter and storage to smaller backyard setups, we work with you on size, style, and materials.
A tiki bar adds a focal point for entertaining. Lucas General Contractors builds the structure and finish: wood post-and-beam, roof in thatch or metal panels, and bar top. We can integrate with a deck or stand alone. For the main tiki bar service page see outdoor tiki bars; here we focus on how tiki bars fit within our tiki hut and outdoor structure work.
We serve Florida statewide. Bar builds often pair with a deck or patio and sometimes an adjacent tiki hut for seating. We can scope the full setup so one crew and one timeline covers everything.

What We Build
- Full tiki bars — Service counter, bar top, optional shelving and storage. Thatched or metal roof.
- Bar with structure — Wood frame and roof; bar top and finish to match.
- Cypress bar tops — Bar tops from cypress slab (e.g. 12" slab at 40" height), supported post to post with 6x6 square posts or run between existing posts.
- Privacy walls & entertainment walls — Walls on one side of a tiki hut or structure (non-load-bearing or load-bearing) that can act as an entertainment center or privacy wall.
- Bar + deck or tiki hut — Combined scope so the bar and surrounding space are built together.
Materials & Build Quality
Wood framing; roof in thatch (natural or synthetic) or metal panels. Bar tops in wood—including cypress slab at standard bar height (about 40")—or other durable outdoor surface. We can support the bar with square posts (e.g. 6x6) or between posts. Separately, we add privacy or entertainment walls on one side of a tiki hut or structure (non-load-bearing or load-bearing) as needed. Built for Florida sun and rain.

A tiki bar built around your service flow
The right roof, posts, and counter layout depend on how you serve—bottle storage, keg access, and ice well placement. We frame the shell; your equipment vendor sets the critical dimensions. If you are commercial, we coordinate with permit and fire expectations alongside commercial tiki best practices. For a dedicated new build focus, our tiki bar builder page covers scope in more detail.
Outdoor tiki and deck integration
Many bars sit on a wood deck or tie into a larger tiki expansion. We plan loads and post paths so your deck or slab does not get overloaded, and we keep roof pitch and eaves where bartenders and guests stay dry. Browse Florida service areas and send bar sketches with photos to speed quoting.
