This offers a wireless installation whereby you only need to have the peephole on the door. The ring doorbell comes with a motion sensor and a two-way communication microphone and a speaker. This means it can sense any movement when someone is at the door. It allows you to identify and communicate with your visitors before you usher them in. This does not only allow you to prepare for your visitors beforehand but also alerts in case of burglary. It offers you preventive measures to unauthorized intruders, and in case someone breaks into your house, you can alert the police and call for help before they even gain entry or steal your properties.

However, you’ll need access to an internet source to keep it connected in real-time. This kind of doorbell means that you can unmount it easily when you need to shift without incurring any additional costs or labor.

The ring doorbell can detect any motion whenever a person comes close to the door. It then sends a notification to your android phone, tablet, or better still your PC. You’re in a position to see and talk to the person in real-time from anywhere in the world.

It is important to note that a rechargeable battery powers the wireless ring doorbell. Although the manufacturers will provide you with a manual of usage and anticipated usage of the battery after recharging, you’ll need to recharge it as and per when it discharges. The time it takes before fully discharging and requiring to be recharged will significantly be determined by its usage.

So how can you install a ring doorbell without drilling?

To install your doorbell doesn’t have to be that hard. Now that you won’t need any drilling, the process should take only a short time.

However, you’ll need the right materials and follow the set guidelines.

The required materials are:

  • Ring doorbell
  • 3m adhesives-double sided is preferred
  • Internet access — WiFi is enough
  • Level
  • Smartphone

After getting all the materials in place, you can get down to work in installing your ring doorbell without drilling.

Before anything else, you’re supposed to charge the battery in full. You can do this by simply connecting the charger that comes with it to a power source then wait until it is fully charged. When fully charged, the small light on the top of the battery will turn green. You can now put it back into the doorbell.

Here, insert the battery at the bottom of the doorbell. The good thing is that this rechargeable battery can take you from 6-12 good months after charging it well. However, this will depend on how many times the motion detector is triggered even during the time of installing the doorbell. This period should include standby mode and continuous use both day and night when the doorbell is functional.

Then, get the ring doorbell and remove the pool tab that is found inside it. Next, you’ll need to remove the body panel that is used to cover the doorbell. The ring doorbell comes in two body panel colors that are black or silver. The cover is removed by pulling it upwards to uncover the ring doorbell body.

To get the ring doorbell activated, you’ll need first to download the ring app. This is usually downloaded from the Google app store. On your Android or iOS, just type ring download and wait for it to complete.

When it is ready, you’re required to sign up and fill in your details. You’re supposed to create a new ring account if it is your first time using the ring doorbell. Open the app and select set up a device to create your ring account. The details required for the ring account are your name, physical address, phone, and email address.

After filling in the details, the ring app needs to connect to the ring WiFi and then connect it to your WiFi router. When you’ve connected to your WiFi, the app will request you to provide more information. Fill and answer these questions the app asks you according to your preferences. Change the settings to what you want them to be.

When all this is done, you can proceed to mount the device on the wall or the door surface.

  1. To mount the ring doorbell, you are not going to drill screws on the door. You’ll need a permanent double-sided tape which can be purchased from retail stores. Cut the part of the tape as per the size of the ring doorbell and stick it to the doorbell surface. If you’re using the angle mount that comes with the doorbell, cut the tape and stick to the angle doorbell mount accurately.
  2. Secondly, align the doorbell onto the mounting angle and fit in the screws well. Match it well with the structure of the doorbell. Use the screwdriver and drive in the screws firmly.
  3. Your doorbell is now ready to be mounted onto the door or wall. This needs to be placed at a reasonable height for proper performance. Measure the door where you want to place the doorbell. For better motion detection, ring recommends that you place the doorbell at the height of 4 inches from the ground. Measure and mark the point on the door using a tape measure. This should also be in level with the door view, or the peephole to give a good view of the space outside your door.
  4. Get the ring doorbell and place it in on the area so marked. Using the level to make sure you place it squarely on the door. Remove the seal of the permanent tape and stick the ring doorbell to the surface. It should be placed centrally such that it gives a full view of the door space. Press it firmly, so it attaches onto the wall.
  5. Next, allow the tape to stick entirely onto the wall for maximum protection. You can try to pull it from the position to be sure it is now secure and ready to function. It should be firmly fixed. To remove it, you can only use special tools to do it. This way, you’re assured that your door won’t be itself stolen or come out temporarily.
  6. You can go to the app and check all the settings for sound and picture are up to your requirements and preferences. Then your doorbell is ready and up running. You can go live and answer anytime a person calls at your doorstep. The good news is that you’ve now installed your ring doorbell without drilling on your door or wall. You can now rest in peace, knowing your house is secured. You’ll also not have to wait blindly without knowing who is waiting at the door. Next time you have got a visitor at the door, you won’t have to be in the house to know they visited.

The bottom line is you don’t have to worry about how to drill into walls or doors to have a doorbell fixed. The ring doorbell comes fully specialized to be fitted without having to drill. If you follow these simple steps, you should be able to set and fix your ring doorbell without drilling any holes on the door.

This is something you can do without paying for experts or incurring uncalled for costs. If you’re in a rented house and you need to move, you can comfortably unmount your ring doorbell and keep it well for next mounting on another surface.
